Having and Being

Something about Fromm's modes of living, i.e. in the 'having' or 'being' mode really connected with me. I like the idea of this 'way of being', because it starts from a position of equality, and I think that it demonstrates perhaps just how different our informal approach within the broad spectrum of education can / should be, especially when compared to those who operate within more rigid and formal boundaries. However as there is increasing demand being made on 'informal educators' to evidence, and justify our work is it becoming a less realistic approach?
